E. & J. Gallo Winery brand Starborough engaged FlyteVu to help expand on the brand’s ultimate mission – conserving the world’s oceans. FlyteVu created a campaign that shined a spotlight on the importance of ocean habitats and the dangers they face.
First, Starborough Wine celebrated Worlds Ocean’s Month by dedicating their entire Instagram feed to coral reefs, starting on Coral Reef Awareness Day. Then, FlyteVu brokered a partnership with Reefmaker, the largest reef builder in the U.S., to create and drop a limestone reef in the Gulf of Mexico to maintain and protect fish species. The Brand challenged consumers to help make an even bigger impact with a pledge to drop a second limestone reef if the brand reached over 100,000 engagements on their Instagram feed. Starborough followers doubled the goal, reaching 251,767 engagements and a second Limestone reef was built and deployed.
The two limestone reefs were deployed off the coast of Destin, Florida where they will protect and maintain their new ocean habitat for years to come. Via a partnership with Starborough Wine, Okaloosa County (Destin-Fort Walton Beach, FL area) dropped an additional 24 smaller, ten-foot-tall limestone reefs into the ocean around one of Starborough’s larger limestone reefs. With a combined 25 reefs, the reef complex is large enough to be a certified reef complex in the Gulf of Mexico. The Starborough Wine site can be found on all official registries and visited by divers and tourists alike.
