The Challenge

Establish a program to boost employee morale with benefits that go beyond what is already available to Vanderbilt Health employees, while supporting overall recruitment and retention efforts among the workforce. Design the program to be inclusive to all employees, not just nurses and doctors, and to promote and highlight the local Nashville community, reinforcing that Vanderbilt Health is a great place to work and the Greater Nashville Area is a great place to live.

What We Did

FlyteVu launched the first annual Work Perks program for Vanderbilt Health during September of 2022 by creating vhworkperks.com, a custom website that was live for the month of September, offering over one million perks for employees to choose from.

Each week of the month was curated based on a different theme with unique perks, and a concerted effort to highlight local specialities. Themes included: Music + Entertainment, Health + Wellness, Attractions, and Food + Beverage.

Through strategic partnerships with 93 local and national businesses, available perks included free and discounted offerings for items such as tickets, massages, workout classes, memberships, experiences and restaurant gift cards to businesses in the Greater Nashville and surrounding areas.

Employees were allotted up to two perks per week. Mondays offered a “Spin to Win” wheel experience where users could take their chance at a random perk. Tuesdays through Fridays, users could come back and hand pick an additional perk through the “Pick-a-Perk” shopping experience ahead of the site’s “restocking” on weekends.

To close out the program, employees were eligible to enter “The Ultimate Staycation Sweepstakes,” which awarded five lucky winners a Nashville-based adventure including a one-night stay at The Bobby Hotel, dinner at an M Street Restaurant, a Visit Music City Star Card, a bottle of wine from Natchez Hills Winery and a gift basket of local favorites.

The Results

Over one-third of the entire Vanderbilt Health workforce participated, setting a new record in employee engagement programs for the institution and surpassing all goals for the initiative.

81% of claimed perks were fully donated to the program, with 93 partnerships facilitating these opportunities for employees to experience their city in new ways
