The Challenge

In 2019, a USC Annenberg Survey report titled “Inclusion in the Recording Studio” highlighted the lack of women artists in popular music.  Bumble wanted to close the gender disparity gap in music by creating exciting and culturally relevant opportunities within Bumble’s Bizz mode.

What We Did

FlyteVu worked with Bumble to create ‘Empowered by Bumble Bizz’, a campaign that offered up-and-coming women musicians the opportunity to be mentored by top-billing women artists. FlyteVu secured six-time GRAMMY-winning artist Kacey Musgraves, GRAMMY-nominated chart-topping artist Bebe Rexha, and artist and director Hayley Kiyoko to mentor winning Bumble users at the biggest festivals around the country. In partnership with the top festival promoters C3 Presents and Superfly, Bizz users had the opportunity in app to submit their music for the chance to not only be mentored by these artists, but also to perform at one of the partner festivals- Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, Music Midtown, Austin City Limits Music Festival, and Voodoo Music + Arts Experience – in 2020. The program kicked-off with exclusive coverage in Billboard.  Talent promoted with social posts, and additional interviews with mentors resulted in features with People.com, PopSugar, EliteDaily and more.
